On August 12, National Guard forces arrived in Washington after President Donald Trump policed the federal government and cited the tragedy of crime in the capital.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said Tuesday that the addition of national security guards to the federal government’s DC Metropolitan Police Station (MPD) forces “will help end violent crimes in our country’s capital as part of the president’s massive law enforcement surge.”
