Daniel Craig’s Benoit Blanc is ready to solve another mystery.
Craig will return to the role of detective in the third part of Rian Johnson’s novel Knives out movies, Wake up dead manwritten and directed by Johnson.
Original Knives out the film, which featured an ensemble cast that included Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ana de Armas, premiered at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival ahead of its theatrical release. Upon release, the film became a box office surprise and critical hit for Lionsgate, earning Johnson an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Johnson said Hollywood reporter“Even when we were making the first movie, I thought, ‘If this works, it would be nice to keep making them, but always in the way Agatha Christie did her books.'”
Netflix agreed, disclosing a $469 million deal with Johnson and his T-Street producing partner Ram Bergman, who are represented by CAA in connection with the two-film deal for Knives Orsequels. Details of the deal stipulated that Johnson did not have to take notes from the streamer, that Craig had to star in the sequels and that each had to have at least a 2019 film budget, which was in the $40 million range.

The third film titled Wake up dead man will be released worldwide on Netflix in 2025, and its first film since the snowplow accident will once again feature an ensemble cast of such massive names as Kerry Washington, Glenn Close and Jeremy Renner.

For Wake up dead man The cast included Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Josh O’Connor, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny and Daryl McCormack. Daniel Craig will also return in the film as Benoit Blanc.

Plot
Although the title and cast of the film have been announced, plot details are still being kept secret. When announcing the title of the film, Netflix has vaguely teased the plot“That’s right, Daniel Craig returns as the suave Southern explorer Wake Up Dead Man: Knife Mystery, a recent installment in the Whodunnit series written and directed by Rian Johnson. Blanc will solve an entirely recent murder mystery in an as yet undisclosed location, surrounded by a recent and colorful group of suspects.” IN harbinger, Craig’s voiceover appeared and Benoit appeared. “In the beginning there were knives. And lo and behold, the glass was shattered,” says Detective Blanc. “But my most unsafe case will soon be revealed.”
