New insights from business travel show that almost half (48%) of European travel managers and procurement experts are anticipating an increase in travel costs between the United States under the new Trump administration.
A recent survey of 115 corporate travel and procurement experts found that 35% expected travel between Europe and the US to be more difficult.
Additionally, 44% of respondents believe that Trump’s proposed removal of climate change allocation will reduce corporate pressures to accelerate sustainable travel initiatives.
While some organizations are forecasting an increase in travel to the US, research has provided a range of outlooks. 9% of respondents indicated they were expecting more travel, while 12% predicted a decline. A significant 29% remain uncertain about the impact of Trump’s policies on corporate travel budgets and schedules.

ETA and ETIAS recognition
A survey close to home revealed that 83% of respondents are familiar with the upcoming UK ETA (electronic travel authorization) scheme and EU ETIAS (European travel information and approval system). Both are expected to be implemented in the final quarter of 2025.
