Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton (DD.C.), a longtime Democratic representative from the District of Columbia, announced on January 27 that she will retire from Congress at the end of her current term.
“I have had the privilege of representing the District of Columbia in Congress since 1991. Time and time again, I have been entrusted by the residents of Washington, D.C., to fight for them at the federal level, and I have not backed down,” Norton said in a statement.
