Doug Liman set for Stephen King feature ‘The Stand’

Doug Liman is set to direct the feature version of Stephen King, a 1978 apocalyptic fantasy novel stand For Paramount Pictures.

Liman produced alongside Tyler Thompson in the Cross Creek photo, and Paramount is considered to be a rapid development.

The epic king’s novel is about the aftermath of the weaponized flu pandemic, in which surviving humans are divided into good and evil factions.

The novel has been filmed twice previously, both as a television miniseries. The 1994 version of ABC starred Gary Sinise and Molly Ringwald, and Then Streamer CBS All Access featured James Marsden and Odessa Young.

The feature version has been developed in the past, and reportedly involved directors such as George A. Romero and David Yates, but no one appeared on screen.

Liman recently filmed an upcoming biographical drama Everestalong with Ewan McGregor, who stars as mountaineer George Mallory.

Director’s latest release includes Apple Original Films The instigatorAmazon MGM Thriller Roadhouse And Lions Gate Action Adventure Chaos Walking. It is included in his previous films Mr and Mrs. Smith and Bone’s Identityproduced by three sequels of Reman Executive.
