On November 7, attorneys for the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a petition in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland to lift an injunction that would prevent Salvadoran citizen Kilmer Abrego Garcia from being deported to Liberia.

Abrego-Garcia was born in El Salvador, entered Maryland illegally as a teenager around 2011, was deported to his home country in March, and returned to the United States in June due to an “administrative error,” where he still faces additional charges related to the deportation order and human smuggling charges.
