David Pastrnak Pleads With Boston Bruins Management To Become A ‘Much Better’ Team For 2026 Season

Boston Bruins star David Pastonak gave his thoughts on how his team must experience significant improvements in 2026 after a disappointing 2025 season.

David Pastrnak asks the Boston Bruins to improve their 2026 roster

The six-time Stanley Cup winner, the Boston Bruins finished the bottom of the Atlantic division and endured a difficult 2025 campaign tied to the bottom spot alongside the Philadelphia Flyers.

Their struggle in front of the goal was a crucial factor for such a poor display, scoring 222 goals, one of the lowest in the entire NHL.

It also marked an unfortunate statistic for the Boston-based franchise as it failed to qualify for the NHL playoffs for the first time since 2016.

During the season, the franchise made major changes to the system with the removal of Jim Montgomery in November, with Joe Sacco being appointed tentatively. It could be replaced when the Bruins are looking for a new head coach.

One of the people who spoke about the future of the Bruins is star player David Pastonak, who believes he will only improve in the 2025/26 season and will film “a much better team.”

Pastrnak said:via nhl.com): “We lost a few players. We got some great talent. We have some draft picks. We get a lot better. I trust management.

It’s an interesting suggestion to highlight the draft pick, as the Bruins have the No. 7 pick in the 2025 NHL entry draft. This is scheduled to take place in June.

Boston goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman also commented on the ways the Bruins need to improve next year, and believes his team will return next season.

The Bruins goalkeeper said:via nhl.com): “From now on, it’s not our standard. Our standard is much higher than this year’s standard. That’s what the guys are back and have a vengeance and chip on the shoulder. That’s what we’re excited about.”
