exclusive:Damiano Michieletto’s historical drama Primavera We secured more deals through Paradise City Sales.

The debut work of renowned Italian opera director Micheletto was sold to Japan’s Aya Pro, Ukraine’s Svoekino, Romania’s Follow Art, and the airline Ski.

set in 18 yearsth A story about a young violin virtuoso living in an orphanage in Venice in the 19th century, whose world is turned upside down when he meets Antonio Vivaldi.

The film was released at UniFrance Rendez-Vous in January and had its world premiere in Toronto in September. The film will have its MENA premiere today (December 7th) at the Red Sea International Film Festival.

It has been sold to more than 20 territories to date, including Scandinavia (Cinema Mondo), the Baltics (Adastra Cinema), Portugal (Pris Audiovisuais), Greece (Filmtrade & Tanweer), Turkey (Filmarti Film), Bulgaria (Beta Films), the former Yugoslavia (Discovery Film), Hungary (Vertigo Media), Poland (M2 Films) and the Czech Republic. (Film Europe), Latin America (Plus Films / Imagem Filmes), South Korea (Entermode Corp), Taiwan (Swallow Wings).

Also included are deals with Australia and New Zealand (Rialto Distribution & Moving Story), Benelux (Cineart), Germany and Austria (X Verleih), Spain (A Contracorriente Films), Switzerland (Frenetic) and Poland (M2 Films).

The story revolves around a 20-year-old violin prodigy who is confined to life in an orphanage, and her only escape seems to be marriage. But when the genius composer Vivaldi, now known around the world for “The Four Seasons,” arrives as a new violin teacher, her life changes dramatically, and their complicated artistic relationship gives her the strength to challenge her destiny.

Tecla Insoria co-stars with Michele Riondino as Vivaldi and Stefano Accorsi as her suitor in an arranged marriage.

The film is being produced by Italy’s Indigo Films in collaboration with Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia and France’s Moana Films. In Italy, Primavera will be released by Warner Bros. Italia, with Diajuana Distribution handling the French release.
