Cubs All-Star Kyle Tucker considered day-to-day with finger injury suffered vs Reds

Chicago Cubs All-Star Kyle Tucker is considered the days of his finger injuries to the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday.

In the first inning at Wrigley Field, Tucker attempted to steal and suffered 2 bases, a right hand stuck in his right hand on a hard slide.

He met Dirt and initially feared he had suffered a head injury, but Tucker took two more at-bats before leaving the game, replacing Vidal Bourjean on the right field.

For Chicago, losing Miguel Amaya to a left diagonal injury was another major blow, with the star catcher facing up to six weeks on the sidelines.

The Cubs could afford to pull Tucker out of the game on Sunday with a comfortable 4-0 lead, and it appears to have been just a precaution.

“I feel it’s okay.” Tucker said. “My hands are either a bit clogged or a bit swollen, but obviously I have a day off tomorrow so I hope I feel a little better when I arrive in Washington.”

When he left the ballpark, the 28-year-old wore a bandage on his right ring finger, cutting across the bridge in his nose.

Who will replace Kyle Tucker of the Chicago Cubs?

As mentioned above, Bourjean replaced Tucker on the right field for the rest of his game against Cincinnati. As long as Tucker is out, while John Berty can also fill it up, we can expect it to continue.

Tucker is the No. 1 MLB free agent expected on the board next winter, and the Cubs will forever be grateful that his finger injury does not seem serious.

Last December, Chicago traded Isaac Paredes, Hayden Wesneski and Cam Smith to get Tucker’s services.

This deal helps the Cubs become serious playoff contenders, with three-time All-Stars and the World Series champion against the Houston Astros in 2022 being the most important part of the team’s success.

Throughout the first 59 games of the season, Tucker will appear in 266 plates with 63 hits, 43 home runs, nine doubles, four triples and 39 RBIs.

He also has 16 stolen bases, 40 walks and 32 strikeouts. He boasts a .283 batting average and a .911 OPS, and is equally effective on the game’s defense, with only one error with 112 chances.

Widely regarded as one of the best talents in baseball at that moment, the Cubs hope to bring Tucker back to the field as soon as possible.
