Duck Prescott and the Cowboys were on the road in Week 1 with the Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas played a competitive game and To the Champion, but lost 24-20.
In the second week of matchup, the Cowboys are at home and face the New York Giants. Prior to that game, Dallas’ defense was a hit. All-Pro CB Daron Bland suffered a leg injury during practice Monday. It’s not ideal for team defense as CB Trevon Diggs is not 100%. The NFL Insider has announced that the Daron Brand could miss weeks for the Cowboys.

On the fifth pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Cowboys chose the Fresno state Darron brand. As a rookie, Brando played in all 17 Dallas games and got eight starts. He finished the year with five intercepts. With the 2023 sophomore campaign, the brand spent the Cowboys breakout season. The 26-year-old intercepted the league high and returned five for a touchdown. It was enough to win Daron Brand’s Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honours.
In 2024, Brando played just seven games for the Dallas Cowboys. He suffered from a stress fracture on his foot last season and needed surgery. Brand was ready to go to week one and played against the Eagles. Unfortunately, Brand suffered an unusual injury during practice on Monday. His new foot injury has nothing to do with what cost him 10 games in 2024.

NFL Insider reports that the brand could miss cowboy time due to a foot injury. On August 31st, the brand signed a four-year, $92 million contract extension with Dallas. That was guaranteed $50 million. The Cowboys can’t afford Daron Brando miss a fair amount of time. Their other first CB, Trevon Diggs, has also recovered from their injuries.
Diggs played in 11 games in Dallas in 2024. He suffered a season-ending knee injury, but was available in the first week of the 2025 season. He soon turned 27 and played week one and snaps for the Eagles and 27-year-old Cowboy. Trevon Diggs said he will be able to see more action in the second week, but wants to take the “smart and safest” approach. Will Trevon Diggs see an increase in workloads set to miss the second week of Sicne Daron Bland?
