Comcast announced Tuesday that it will introduce a streaming bundle for cable, broadband and mobile subscribers, combining Peacock, Netflix AND AppleTV+ at a discounted price.
The announcement, made Tuesday at the MoffettNathanson media conference in Up-to-date York, comes as major media players increasingly join forces to drive user value and subscriptions to streaming services.
May 8 Disney AND Warner Bros. Discovery announced a bundle of its streaming services – Disney+, Hulu and Max.
Comcast’s offering is based on a model similar to several packages With Verizon: A streaming package will be offered to existing Comcast subscribers, which could assist support pay TV subscribers.
Comcast said in its April 25 earnings report that the company lost 487,000 cable customers in the first quarter. However, in the wireless segment, the company saw a 21% escalate in customers to a total of 6.9 million connections.
Comcast did not reveal the price of the upcoming package. Peacock subscription plans start at $5.99 per month, but that will escalate to $7.99 per month this summer. Comcast broadband customers typically receive a discount on the company’s streaming service.
Netflix plans start at $6.99 per month, while Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month.
“We have been successfully and creatively packaged video for 60 years,” Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said Tuesday. “So this is the latest version of it. I think it will be quite an attractive package.”
