Cohesity, an AI-powered data security and management company, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Dr. Craig Martell as chief technology officer.
According to the statement, in this role, Dr. Martell will bring his deep industry knowledge to shape the company’s technical vision, taking into account current and evolving industry and consumer trends to define and implement a strategic and impactful roadmap for the company’s future.
Dr. Martell most recently served as the Director of Digital Affairs and Artificial Intelligence (CDAO) at the United States Department of Defense (DoD).
Prior to joining the Department of Defense, he held senior positions at leading technology companies such as Lyft, Dropbox and LinkedIn.
Dr. Martell was also a professor of computer science at the Naval Postgraduate School, specializing in natural language processing. His proficiency in statistical principles and methodologies has been demonstrated in several patents, including a 2021 Hybrid Classification System and a 2008 Image Data Encryption System and Method.
