Canada’s Oscar submission ‘The Things You Kill’ sells to key territories

Exclusive: Forever Best Friend has agreed to a distribution deal with multiple territories of Alireza Katami What you kill, It was just selected as an Oscar entry into the Canadian international feature film category.

The Brussels-based distributor has sold the film to Benelk (Moov), Spain (Filmin), Greece (Danaos Films), Ex-Yugoslavia (Discovery Film), Taiwan (Filmware), Indonesia (PT Falcon) and India (Bookkmyshow). Sales to Italy, Germany and Scandinavia are being discussed.

Le Pacte will release the film in France, Cineverse will win North American distribution rights, and Mongrel Media will release it in Canada on September 19th.

The dramatic thriller is about a university professor who is troubled by the suspicious death of a sick mother.

Starring Ekin Koç, Erkan Koolçak Köstendil, Hazar Ergüçlü and Ercan Kesal. The producers line up with co-producer turkey classes alongside French Full Guns and Lemra films, Polish lava films, Canadian tall tales and bands.

What you kill It held its world premiere at Sundance 2025, where Khatami won the award for Best Director in the Dramatic Category of World Cinema. That’s a follow-up to filmmaker Cannes 2023 Riku poetry Features of 2017 Poem of Forgetting He won the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice Horizons Competition and the Fiplesci Awards.

Forever best friend is heading to Tiff with Pera Cogerman and Hugo Lilja Edgehead Republic (discovery) and Valentyn vasyanovych’s To victory! (Platform).
