This year’s edition by Brock Yates One lap of America ended last Saturday. Bridgestone decided to enter two cars in the long-running motorsports event to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Potenza tire line.
Brock Yates he created One Lap of America in 1984 as a law-abiding spiritual successor Cannonball Run. The coast-to-coast route was replaced with a not-too-Tour de France loop that started and ended at Tire Rack in South Bend, Indiana. The route includes time trials on several tracks across the country, combined with monitored driving on public roads. Support vehicles are strictly prohibited, so each crew is on their own for the duration of the mission.
Bridgestone has entered the Acura Integra Type S and Honda Civic Type R. Cara Krstolic, two-time IMSA GTD champion Krystyna Nielsen he drove an Integra. Todd Chapman and automotive influencer Dustin Williams drove the Civic. Krstolic and Chapman work for Bridgestone Americas, but have extensive racing experience. Chapman, a senior product manager, has been racing grassroots for almost 20 years. Krstolic is the executive director of engineering and production of racing tires. Many racing fans know her from her role Chief Firestone Engineer in the IndyCar series. – said Krstolic in the edition:

Both cars finished the week-long odyssey with good midfield finishes for the rookies. The Civic finished 27th out of 77 entries and the Integra placed 45th. The winning car was entered as a 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Good year.
