Ugly step-sister Norway’s Emily Brichfeld won the top prize and audience award for 29th Buhong International Fantastic Film Festival (Busan) in Korea.

A twisted take on Cinderella’s classic story won the Bucheon Award and Audience Award at the closing ceremony of the festival today (July 11) at Eoul Madang Hall at Bucheon City Hall.

The film premiered earlier this year as a midnight opening selection for Sundance, playing Berlin Le. Shudder has North American, UK and ANZ rights. Norwegian writer-director Blichfeldt will feature directorial debut and feature stars Leamy, Thea Sofie LochNæss and Ane Dahl Torp.

I went to the Best Director Choice Award for Bifan Reflection of a dead diamond From Belgium-based filmmakers Bruno Forzani and Helene Catt. The thriller, centered around a retired spy, premiered in a competition in Berlin.

The ju judge’s choice award was scooped up together by a horror comedy directed by Michael Shanks and starring Alison Brie and Dave Franco. It also premiered at Sundance, which was acquired by Neon.

Best Korean Fantastic Film Award Winner to Kim Min Ha Teaching Practice: A Stupid Girl and School Ghost 2 Best Director Award in Korean: Features section went Square By Kim Bo Sol.

The Korean Fantasy Actor Award was awarded to Han Sang Huwa Teaching Practice: A Stupid Girl and School Ghost 2 And Kwon Yong-Geun’s Classroom fantasies. A special mention has been given to Yang Malbok chicken.

Korean Fantastic Audience Awards Alsowent chickenDirected by Lee Yu-jin. Classroom fantasiesHe was directed by Seo Eun-Young and won both the Nonghyup Distribution Award and Watcha’s Pick for Korean Fantastic.

The festival’s closing film was the world premiere of a family drama Reliable RestaurantKorean director Han Jay. This is the first time that Korean titles have shut down Bi-hwan in five years. While the closing film is showing today, the festival continues until Sunday (July 13th).
