In collaboration with London-based sales agent Bankside Film, Ireland Producing Company’s BMAN Entertainment and 40-foot photo selected three projects to receive a share of 50,000 euros from the genre writer scheme.
The scheme is for Ireland-based writers with the first or second thriller, horror or sci-fi project that Bman said was “bold, original and remarkably filmable.”

Bman co-produced with 40 feet and commissioned three scripts for sale on Bankside. The €50,000 sharing pot will be directed towards writing the script and receive continued development support.
“We were blown away by 280 incredible submission. It was a lot of fun reading what the Irish talent has to offer. It was extremely difficult to arrive at the final group of our project between myself, Bankside and 40 feet, but we are very excited to see where we are.
“We have so many talented writers in Ireland. It was a very challenging process to narrow it down to three finalists, but we’re here. We look forward to developing more of these projects and finding a global audience.”
