The week leading up to the Met Gala is as essential as the first Monday in May itself. Why are you asking? Because it helps fashion enthusiasts narrow down which stars will grace those iconic steps at next week’s soiree. If a fashion muse is in Modern York a few days before the star-studded ball, there’s a good chance she’ll be on the guest list on Monday. This week, following appearances by Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson and Kerry Washington, Blake Lively was the latest to cement her arrival in Modern York, styling a vintage blue sequined gown for the launch party for Pharrell Williams’ Tiffany & Co. debut collection, Tiffany Tytan . And with such a fantastic moment in front of the Met, we can only imagine how exquisite her real designer look will be.
On May 2, Lively joined stars Williams, Ayo Edebiri, Gabrielle Union and more at the brand’s Fifth Avenue flagship store for an intimate evening of delicious cuisine, high fashion and celebration. No wonder everyone was stunned by the Tiffany & Co. jewels, especially Lively, who even went so far as to wear the brand’s signature color: blue. The gossip Girl alum’s OOTN was a vintage midi dress from the mid-20th century Vintage Joyful Isles Salon, which was most likely created in the 1960s. Lively’s retro number was embellished with hundreds of aquamarine sequins in a unique fish scale pattern – perhaps a subtle homage to the upcoming Met Gala exhibition focusing on designs inspired by “land, sea and sky.” When it comes to jewelry, Lively embraced the brooch renaissance by hanging two diamond Tiffany & Co. bird-shaped pins from her bodice. Not surprisingly, the sparkle didn’t end there, as she also accessorized with classic diamond earrings, three extravagant rings, and a layered two-chain diamond bracelet adorned with stunning aquamarine, all from Tiffany & Co., of course. . To complete her evening outfit, the star opted for crystal blue slingback sandals from Gucci.
Lively was one of the top contestants who dressed to impress. Edebiri chose a timeless LBD model inspired by Audrey Hepburn, with narrow straps and a midi cut. The Emmy winner added some sparkle to her deceptively uncomplicated dress with miniature hoop earrings and a diamond chain necklace, both courtesy of Tiffany & Co. Union also opted for an elegant LBD, except hers was a long-sleeved mini dress with a plunging neckline and a gold belt. Edebiri’s similar gold chain necklace, circular pendant chain, various matching diamond rings and pointy ankle strap pumps completed her party outfit. And then there was Blackpink star Rosé, who looked ultra-glamorous in a peach Zimmermann babydoll dress. Like Edebiri and Union, the singer paired her gold Tiffany chain necklace with mismatched earrings.
