NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel and Google Cloud have entered into a long-term partnership to provide cloud solutions to Indian businesses and accelerate the adoption of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technology in the country.
“In addition, Airtel will provide a suite of managed cloud services to its customer base of over 2,000 huge enterprises and one million emerging companies,” the telco said in a regulatory filing on Monday.
With this collaboration, both companies are focusing on India’s huge and growing public cloud services market, which is expected to reach $17.8 billion by 2027, according to research agency IDC.
The two companies will combine their strengths in connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to develop industry-leading AI/ML solutions, which Airtel will train on its huge data set, Airtel and Google Cloud said.

According to the statement, these solutions will include geospatial analytics solutions with advanced location analytics for trend detection, predictive capabilities, market assessment, site selection, risk management and asset tracking; voice analytics solutions for superior conversational applications trained in various languages; and marketing technology solutions to predict consumer behavior, perform customized audience segmentation and improve content creation with true contextual advertising.
Airtel said it has developed an end-to-end Internet of Things (IoT) solution for the utilities sector that combines connectivity, Google Cloud services and application software into a single offering, enabling seamless, hassle-free and faster deployment.
To support its cloud business, Airtel has established a managed services center in Pune with over 300 experts who are extensively trained to augment the utilize of Google Cloud services and develop technology solutions.

Airtel will also extend these capabilities to its B2B customers in India and around the world.
