The NFL Insider announced that Broncos rookie CB Jada Evaron has recently agreed to a deal for his rookie. He signed a four-year, $20 million contract with Denver.
Currently, 31 of the 32 first-round picks from the 2025 draft class have signed their respective teams. Only Cincinnati’s Shemar Stewart hasn’t signed his rookie contract yet. This is because Bengal refuses to give Stewart the fully guaranteed $18.9 million. However, their first round picks in 2023 and 2024 received a fully guaranteed deal. This curveball by the Bengals remains signed by the team that Shemar Stewart drafted him.
When will the standoff between Shemar Stewart and the Bengals end?

On the 17th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Bengals selected Shemmer Stewart from Texas A&M. He played three seasons for the Aggies before being taken to Cincinnati. Three months after the 2025 NFL Draft, Stewart is the only first round pick that has not signed a rookie contract. Despite the fact that no deals have yet to be made, Stewart is preparing for the upcoming season. NFL insider Kelsey Conway reported that Stewart is exercising at the Texas A&M facility.
This is not something that Bengals fans need to worry about. There were rumours that Stewart could try to return to the Aggies for his senior season. It may not happen, and Stewart plays his newcomer year for the Bengals. The reason Stewart hasn’t signed is that Cincinnati doesn’t guarantee him his rookie deal entirely.
Shemar Stewart is only 0.5 from recording five total college bags. Why doesn’t he want to go back and take care of an unfinished business?

In negotiations with the team, the Bengals added a new language to his deal. They reportedly wanted to add a “default clause” that allowed the team to void future guarantees in case Stewart is in trouble. This includes stopping actions on the field and out-of-field issues. Cincinnati did not use the language in its last two first round picks. Why add this to Stewart’s deal?
Shemar Stewart asserts that he is “100% right” in the case. He doesn’t want any outrageous deals or anything that the Bengali have done for rookies in the past. Oddly, it took so long and Stewart hasn’t been signed yet. The Bengals rookie will be reporting to training camp this Saturday. Stewart reported to OTAS this offseason, but did not take part in drills on the field. Are your rookies ready for work this weekend?
