Throughout the three games of 2025, the Buccaneers are a perfect 3-0. They retracted their fourth quarter comeback victory in each game this season. In week three, Tampa Bay defeated the Jets 29-27 on a walk-off field goal.
Despite the victory, Pro Bowl WR Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury. He is set to miss out on time, but WR Chris Godwin is expected to make his season debut in Week 4. This delayed his start to Tampa Bay’s 2025 season. Aside from the set, NFL Insiders predict that Chris Godwin will return in week four.

In a 2024 fourth quarter loss in the 7th week to the Ravens, Chris Godwin suffered an ankle dislocation. The veteran WR needed surgery and missed the rest of the regular season. It was a shame for Tampa Bay after Godwin got off to such a hot start until this year. In seven games, he received 50 catches for 576 yards and five touchdowns. The 29-year-old is untailed to get back on the field for the Buccaneers.
Luckily, Chris Godwin avoided the year on the Tampa Bay puppy list. He would have had to miss at least the first four games of the 2025 season. Aside from the set-off, Chris Godwin is expected to play for the Bucs in week 4. Godwin’s return was not possible at a more perfect time for Tampa Bay. Mike Evans suffered a hamstring injury in week 3. He ended up missing time.

Although Evans is not available, Baker Mayfield will provide the services of Chris Godwin. Throughout his NFL career, Chris Godwin was a reliable receiver. His career reception took place in 2022 with 104 catches. That was when Tom Brady was still his QB. Chris Godwin of Tampa Bay took the time to come back from his injury. He is scheduled to make his season debut in Week 4 and with the Eagles.
Bucs’ Chris Godwin missed the first three games of the 2025 season. Tampa Bay’s first round draft pick, Emekaegbuka, is a budding star. He has 14 catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns to start the season. Edbuka and Godwin should pair well for Baker Mayfield. When Mike Evans finally returns, BUCS has three legitimate options with wide receivers.
