Amidst growing frustration over government corruption and censorship, young people across Asia are adopting a new symbol of rebellion, an anime pirate flag. Flags popularized by anime and manga series one piecedepicting straw hats and crossbone skulls, and together with other countries, it has become the flag of protest against youth in Nepal, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Now, protests are fully powered and spread across Asia against corruption, censorship and authoritarian governments. The flags protesting across the continent are heartfelt adoption as symbols of ZZ’s unrest.
