Amidst growing frustration over government corruption and censorship, young people across Asia are adopting a new symbol of rebellion, an anime pirate flag. Flags popularized by anime and manga series one piecedepicting straw hats and crossbone skulls, and together with other countries, it has become the flag of protest against youth in Nepal, Indonesia and the Philippines.
It belongs to the Straw Hat Pirates one piece The story, flag has appeared in the aforementioned countries in recent months as symbols of protest and resistance amid similar tensions, depicted in the entrances, balconies, walls and on the backs of cars.
Advances Indonesia’s Independence Day on August 17th, President Prabowo Subianto called on Indonesians to fly red and white flags. Instead, many Indonesians raised straw hat flags on the streets.
Now, protests are fully powered and spread across Asia against corruption, censorship and authoritarian governments. The flags protesting across the continent are heartfelt adoption as symbols of ZZ’s unrest.
