In what appears to be an astonishing recovery, Alex Ovechkin was once again discovered skating since breaking a fibre midway through November.
Has Alex Ovechkin already recovered from his injury?
When top goalscorer Alex Ovechkin suffered a terrifying injury against Utah mid-November, the capital feared that their superstar season might have reached an early and sudden conclusion.
Fractured fibres usually require a long recovery process, but after just two weeks away from the ice, Ovechkin has already been found practicing himself.

Speaking about his star player coming back to action this week, Capitals head coach Spencer Carberry seemed excited that the Russians would actually be back, even if it was skating himself.
“It was good to watch wearing skates and riding the ice sheet,” Carberry said. “It’s the first step. There’s no timeline updates, it’s just one step that he’s coming back to.
“This isn’t going to end his season. It’s weekly. I think it’s weekly accurate.”
Despite losing the first two NHL games without Ovechkin, the capital recovered well to win four consecutive times without the threat of main targets.
“We had staples in certain places for years, so we had to throw something together right away,” Carberry continued.

“These five guys came together, ‘Okay, what do we want to do?” It was really impressive to see them get on the same page as they have, just like Alex goes out. ”
Ovechkin himself is desperate not only to help his team, but also to return to the ice to chase the legendary Wayne Gretzky’s greatest goal record ever.
