Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in an Oct. 9 interview with FOX Business that air traffic controllers who aren’t dedicated enough to regularly report to work during the government shutdown will be fired.
“We need more controllers, but we also need the best and brightest dedicated controllers. And if we have people on staff who aren’t as dedicated as we need them to be, we’re going to fire them. We can’t afford people who don’t show up to work,” Duffy said, calling such controllers “problem children.”
