Thiruvananthapuram: To effectively leverage the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in general education, a three-day hands-on training conducted by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) of the general education department has started at six centers of the district. As many as 7,715 teachers who teach classes VIII to XII are being trained in artificial intelligence and this will continue till the end of August. KITE CEO K Anwarsadat said that the role of teachers in using AI responsibly in classrooms and without compromising academic value has increased and is more essential in the up-to-date era. Teachers participate in training in various groups of 25 people, each using laptops and smartphones. AI G-Suite accounts provided by KITE are used for training to ensure privacy when using the tools. In addition to the constant apply of AI tools, tools developed by the KITE expert panel are used for training purposes. The training will enable teachers to plan educational activities tailored to each child and provide resources in a disability-friendly way. This requires registration in the training management system on the KITE website. After assembling the existing teaching staff, training for primary school teachers will take place from September to December.
