On Wednesday, Christian McCaffrey was a full participant in the 49ers practice. He came on Thursday and was limited due to a calf injury. This is how quickly a player’s stats change in the NFL. The 29-year-old has been healthy throughout the offseason and then landed on an injury report a few days before his first match. This is noteworthy given his history of injury and how the 2024 season began.
McCaffrey left most of his training camp in 2024 due to a calf injury. He advanced to the first eight games of Miss San Francisco’s season. All-Pro then played week 9-12 and missed the last 5 games. Fans on the team hope that similar results will not occur in 2025. Last season, McCaffrey appeared in just four games in the 49ers. It was the second lowest game he played in a single season.

Two weeks ago, the commander traded RB Brian Robinson Jr. for the 49ers in exchange for the sixth pick. Robinson is far from McCaffrey’s talent, but he’s a serviceable backup. San Francisco hopes Christian McCaffrey will make up a large part of the snap in 2025. However, the team has a capable backup at Brian Robinson Jr.
