Keeping up with the ever-changing job market over the past few years has often felt like work itself, as the priorities of both employers and employees continue to change. The skills required for a given position have also evolved – they have changed by 25 percent since 2015 – he says data from LinkedIn. Not surprisingly, this is especially true for technology professionals, as the utilize of artificial intelligence and advanced automation is becoming more common across industries, even in the face of inflation-driven economic instability triggered a wave of layoffs of technical workers.
Disturbing headlines aside, while tech employment fell ahead of summer 2023, it has picked up again in the last few months of the year and is currently on the rise almost 12 percent compared to July (compared to total employment). Even with this growth, there is still significant competition in technology roles, thanks in part to being a leading industry remote work AND employment stabilization.
However, some positions are in greater demand than others – including those identified in recent report from LinkedIn.
The fastest growing tech jobs in the US
Of the 25 fastest-growing jobs in the United States included in LinkedIn’s “Jobs on the Rise” report, three are pure technology positions, with several others focused on business development in technology industries:

To get these numbers and calculate the growth rate for each position, LinkedIn Economic Graph Researchers compiled data from millions of job postings that site members started between January 1, 2019 and July 31, 2023. To be ranked, a position had to have continued growth and reached “significant size” by 2023.
