It’s a story as ancient as time. Sovereign citizen decides that the rules don’t apply to them, gets into trouble, he makes an ass of himself and is arrested. And yet, watching them incite an arrest is still fun, no matter how many of these videos you’ve seen. This time is no different, although his Audi S5 looks quite good.
The film, of course, begins with an entirely preventable encounter. The honorable sovereign citizen in question was apparently visiting the park and did not pay when he entered and began flying his drone illegally. The park ranger then talks to him about these issues, as well as his lack of a valid license plate. He replies that it is a private vehicle, refuses to hand over the registration certificate when asked, and then demands to speak to his superior.
You can probably guess where this is all going, but that doesn’t mean it’s still not great fun. He begins to argue about the difference between a crime and a misdemeanor and explains that “v [his] law”, another person must suffer harm for it to be considered a crime, claims that he does not live in the “state” of California but does live in California, and then insists that he does not know what a sovereign citizen is, calling this term an oxymoron. And all this within the first three minutes of the match.
Things only get sillier from here. Among other nonsensical arguments, he insists that the laws only apply to “public servants”, which may be the stupidest thing anyone has ever said, but we’re talking about sovereign citizens here, so there’s a good chance someone said something stupider. And wouldn’t you know it, when the supervisor arrives, the situation doesn’t get any better. In fact, he somehow manages to talk himself into getting arrested. Shocking!
The entire meeting takes over 20 minutes to record, so it’s not a particularly rapid video, but if you enjoy watching sovereign citizens make fools of themselves, you’ll definitely want to watch this video. Cheerful Friday, everyone.
