Gurjar allegedly uploaded a video on his YouTube channel in which he said, “Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and other gang members are with me and I will kill Salman Khan because he has not apologized yet,” the official said.
The accused shot a video on a highway in Rajasthan and uploaded it on his channel.
Considering the seriousness of the case, a team was sent to Rajasthan to conduct an investigation and arrest the accused, the official said, adding that a case has been registered at the cyber police station in Mumbai.
“We are checking whether accused Gujar has any previous criminal history. He was arrested under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections. 506 section 2 (penalty for intimidation) and the provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act. Moreover, investigation is ongoing,” the official said.
Two men on motorcycles fired multiple shots outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra area in the early morning hours of April 14. A total of six people were arrested in this case. One of them, Anuj Thapan, allegedly hanged himself in police custody on May 1. In a separate case, Navi Mumbai police arrested five people, including an alleged member of Bishnoi and Golda Brar gangs from Haryana, in connection with the plot to attack Salman Khan.
Police had earlier said that the four gang members knew Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel, the area around his house in Bandra and the places he visited for film shooting.
Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad in another case and the Mumbai Police will approach the court seeking his custody, they said.
His brother Anmol, probably in Canada, was considered a wanted person in a shooting case.
