Singer Mika Singh has expressed support for Kangana Ranaut, who was allegedly slapped at the Chandigarh airport by a CISF officer. On Friday, Mika shared a post in support of the actress on his Instagram account and wrote a long note. “We, as a Punjabi/Sikh community, have earned respect across the world through our seva and as a savior. It’s depressing to hear about the airport episode that happened with Kangana Ranaut. A CISF policewoman was on duty at the airport, whose job is to ensure the safety of people staying nearby. It’s depressed that due to her personal anger over another situation, she felt it was okay to attack a passenger at the airport. She should have shown her anger at the airport in civilian clothes. But this is not the way to vent your emotions. This act of hers will now affect other Punjabi ladies and they may get suspended from their job just because of the mistake of one of them.”

Earlier today, TV actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee also slammed the section supporting the CISF officer and stated that supporting such behavior sets a unsafe precedent. She also said: “We must come together to condemn this act and ensure that those in power are held accountable.”
After the incident, Kangana also posted a video on the platform explaining what actually happened at the airport. She also shared a post in the Stories section in which she slams Bollywood stars who do not take her stand. However, she later deleted the post.
Meanwhile, Kangana won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket. In the Lok Sabha polls, she received 5,37,022 votes against Congress Party candidate Vikramaditya Singh who received 4,62,267 votes.
