Even though Drew Barrymore’s hair and makeup have gone through many different eras over the years – from daisy-accented blonde locks to grunge vampy lips – they still seem to be one of her favorite forms of self-expression. In fact, the talk show host and rom-com icon even has her own line of cosmetics and hair tools. These days, her favorite look is more natural, and the FLOWER Beauty founder often posts quick GRWM tutorials on Instagram or shares a up-to-date product she can’t stop using. So when Barrymore recently assembled an all-star glam squad to recreate her Charlie’s Angels Beauty from 2003, it was a particularly dramatic and completely nostalgic transformation.
Charlie’s Angels: Full throttle Its 21st anniversary is approaching, and on this occasion, the host invited three beauty experts to her daily program to turn back the clock and give her the same hairstyle and makeup as she had at the film premiere. WITH Shani Darden preparing her skin, CharlotteTilbury with makeup and Chris Appleton in her hair, Barrymore went from her usual shoulder-length auburn hairstyle and fresh shine to long, blonde beach waves (via a lace front wig), “rock chick Kate Moss” (as Tilbury called it), smoky eyes, and glossy nude lips . The 50 first dates The star’s wardrobe team even matched the ivory suit she wore on the red carpet at the premiere (as well as the “My Boyfriend’s Out of Town” T-shirt she wore during several BTS shots at the Novel York show).
A total transformation that you will be able to see in the June 6 episode (or in the series Instagram page), sparked a surprisingly emotional reaction from Barrymore. “You just put a time machine in me,” Tilbury said, seeing her reflection in the mirror. “I feel like that girl again.”
Although the look was inspired by Barrymore’s hair and makeup from the 2000s, it surprisingly doesn’t feel dated today. Sure, girls are definitely having a moment, but beachy waves and sultry eyes never go out of style. And while the talk show host still loves to show off her natural, everyday look, it’s nice to have a few options when the need for a more glamorous moment arises.
