“Both sides are finalizing the terms of the pact for the operate of ChatGPT in Apple’s iOS 18,” Gurman said. We don’t know yet what these features will be, but insiders say Apple could operate generative artificial intelligence to improve existing apps and services. This may include summary features in Messages and Safari, and improved Spotlight search on the home screen.
According to Up-to-date York TimesApple is also planning a major overhaul of Siri, which means the voice assistant could become much smarter and more productive thanks to the generative enhancement of artificial intelligence. Speaking of voice assistants, OpenAI is reportedly working on its own voice assistant. However, it is unclear whether this is part of the conversation with Apple or whether it will be positioned as a Siri competitor.
To further confuse matters, Apple is also reportedly in talks with Google about bringing Gemini’s generative AI features to Apple devices, but according to the outlet, those talks have not yet resulted in an agreement. Still with us?
