Australian opener David Warner appeared lost in thought on Thursday after being dismissed from the field in the first T20 World Cup match against Oman at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The experienced batsman was climbing the stairs leading to the Oman dressing room instead of the Australian dressing room before he was alerted by his teammates on the field. Warner quickly realized his mistake and descended the stairs before heading to the Australian dressing room.

It was a hilarious moment, caught on TV camera, when David Warner lost his mind after hitting 56 for 51 in Australia’s successful match against Oman. Warner kept Australia’s innings alive against a spirited Oman attack before Marcus Stoinis came out and smashed a 36-ball 67 that helped Australia recorded a total of 164 wins on a snail-paced pitch.
David Warner delivered a record-breaking performance in Barbados as the Australian opener overtook his former captain Aaron Finch to become the country’s leading player in men’s T20Is. Warner took his record to 3155 runs in 104 innings, completing his knock against Oman with 35 runs more than Finch.
Finch congratulated Warner from the commentary box at Kensington Oval, and Warner gave the thumbs up – an uplifting moment captured by TV cameras.
Warner will retire from international cricket after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup campaign in the US and West Indies. The veteran opener retired from ODIs and Tests earlier this year.
Australia put in a clinical performance against Oman on Thursday as Marcus Stoinis won the Player of the Match award for his all-round heroics. The all-rounder took 3 wickets and added his fiery 67 with the bat as Oman were restricted to just 125 for 9 in 20 overs.
Warner will be looking to build on his good start when Australia face arch-rivals England in their next match in Barbados on June 8.
