BMW 1 Series: : Design
The modern BMW 1 Series now features a refined yet expressive design.It gets a more restyled front fascia, complemented by updated adaptive LED headlamps with modern daytime running delicate patterns. A redesigned bumper and fresh alloy wheels enhance its current appearance, but in terms of side profile it remains more or less the same apart from these changes. Moving to the rear, it has updated tail lamps reminiscent of the BMW X2 and a restyled lower bumper with sleek black trim.
The fourth-generation 1 Series has increased slightly in dimensions and now measures 4,361 mm in length, an enhance of 42 mm. The wheelbase is 2,670 mm and the width remains the same at 1,800 mm. The height has also increased slightly – by 25 mm to 1,459 mm.
BMW 1 Series: Features and safety
The model will now feature a dual-screen setup combining a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 10.7-inch infotainment system. This interface is borrowed from models such as the X2.
Speaking of safety, it will come with standard advanced driver assistance systems, including forward collision warning, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition. Optional extras such as Steering and Lane Keeping Assist and Parking Assist Professional expand your horizons.

BMW 1 Series: Drive system
The fourth-generation 1 Series boasts an improved powertrain offering that employs 48-volt mild-hybrid technology to enhance efficiency. Engine options include a 3-cylinder petrol engine and two 4-cylinder diesel engines, all mated to a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch gearbox.
At the top of the range is the BMW M135 xDrive. This model boasts a powerful 300 HP four-cylinder engine, sports steering and all-wheel drive. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
BMW 1 Series: Will it come to India?
While the model will debut abroad in the last quarter of 2024, it is highly unlikely that the manufacturer will bring it to India as the previous Series 1 series was discontinued here in 2017 due to indigent sales.
