KT Corp, a South Korean telecommunications company, said on Tuesday that it will join forces with US technology giant Microsoft to develop the local artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing sector.
Under the partnership, the two companies will jointly conduct research projects in artificial intelligence and cloud, KT officials say, reports Yonhap news agency
“We will make every effort to set a milestone in South Korea’s digital innovation and respond quickly to market changes through comprehensive cooperation with Microsoft,” said KT CEO Kim Teenage-shub.
Meanwhile, Hitachi and Microsoft announced an anticipated multi-billion-dollar collaboration over the next three years that will accelerate social innovation through generative artificial intelligence.
Through this strategic alliance, Hitachi will drive the growth of Lumada’s business, with projected revenues of $18.9 billion in fiscal 2024, and promote operational efficiency and productivity improvements for the Hitachi Group’s 270,000 employees.
“We are entering a fresh era of artificial intelligence with the promise to deliver transformative business outcomes in every role and industry,” said Satya Nadella, president and CEO of Microsoft.
Hitachi will train over 50,000 GenAI specialists.
