5-star Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun now safer: equipped with six airbags as standard

Volkswagen India has updated both Virtus sedan i Taigun SUV with six airbags standard in all variants. By adding six airbags, the company did not raise the prices of either model. The price for Virtus and Taigun, prices start from Rs 11.56 lakh and Rs 11.70 lakh (ex-showroom respectively).

Until now, Virtus and Taigun had only six airbags in the top versions.lower variants were only available with two airbags. Six airbags are now standard on all variants, making both cars much safer. Both Virtus and Kushaq are 5 stars cars by Global NCAPproviding this rating only on the dual airbag version.

The VW Virtus scored 29.71 points out of 34 in adult occupant protection tests and 42 points out of 49 in child occupant protection tests. On the other hand, the Taigun also achieves similar results, scoring 29.64 points out of 34 in adult occupant protection tests and 42 points out of 49 in child occupant protection tests.

Conversation about drive systemThe Virtus and Taigun continue to feature a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 115PS and 150Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The second engine is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a power of 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearbox.
