After playing Marvel’s Thor and George Miller’s demented villain Dementus Furiosa: The Mad Max Sagaactor Chris Hemsworth is in talks to star in the upcoming crossover between Transformers AND gi Joe franchise with Paramount, it was reported Diversity.
The Transformers AND gi Joe the crossover was already mentioned in last year’s film, Transformers: Rise of the Beast, and Paramount confirmed it at this year’s CinemaCon. At the end The Rise of the BeastNoah, the character played by Anthony Ramos, meets a nefarious government spy named Agent Burke, played by Michael Kelly from House of cards.
After saving the planet with the Autobots, Burke gives Noah a business card, revealing that he works for the G.I. Joes, an elite commando unit. The two iconic ’80s franchises have already crossed paths in Marvel comics, but this would be their first collaboration on the massive screen.
“Noah goes from someone who can’t get a job to a guy who gets the best job ever. Putting it here was really organic because you could tie it into the story,” said producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura in The Rise of the Beast premiere.

“We didn’t seem to be cynical and say, ‘Good news, we could just squeeze GI Joes in here.’ Fans want many things; if we do this and don’t get it right, they will be disappointed. It took us some time to figure out the Maximals, and now we have a clue on how to start Joes’ story,” Lorenzo added.
This would be Hemsworth’s second match Transformers appearance, after starring in an animated film Transformers One. In the film, which hits theaters on September 20, he will play the newborn Optimus Prime, formerly known as Orion Pax. Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy will produce the crossover, with Steven Spielberg and Hasbro reported that Entertainment will executive produce Diversity.
