Check Point, a Tel Aviv-based cybersecurity services provider, said on Tuesday it is expanding its operations in India as the country rapidly evolves into a cybersecurity market driven by increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
Office in Bengaluru
The Israeli cybersecurity company announced the opening of its modern office in Bengaluru, a 42,700-square-foot facility designed to support global innovation, collaboration and productivity.
According to Check Point, the facility includes a customer service center and AI demonstration zones where customers can test cutting-edge security solutions tailored to the requirements of their industry.
“India is a strategic market for us in terms of talent and market potential. Given the pace of digitalization and the constantly evolving cyber threat landscape, this region offers unprecedented business development opportunities. ” said Sundar Balasubramanian from India and CEO of SAARC at Check Point Software Technologies.
The company said that from next month, Check Point will also operate from Chennai.
A piercing escalate in attacks
According to the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), the Indian cyber security market will constitute 5% of the global market by 2028. Check Point reports that every Indian company faced 2,807 cyberattacks per week in Q1FY24, an escalate of 33%. year-on-year, exceeding the global average growth of 28%.
This was the second highest result in the APAC region and required advanced solutions, Balasubramanian said.
