Not since Karl Lagerfeld and Choupette has a celebrity pet-parent duo been as embraced by the fashion world as Demi and Pilaf Moore. The actress, producer and longtime style star, who currently lives under her roof with nine dogs, is a vocal advocate for animal welfare. But her 5-pound chihuahua is the lucky one, jetting around the world, accompanying Demi everywhere from Paris Fashion Week to the Cannes Film Festival and beyond. Due to its diminutive size and delicacy, Pilaf travels best cuddled, close to her human companion – in a custom Max Mara carrier, of course. And that’s not the only fashion gift she received. Still, when she attends fashion shows, film festivals and TV appearances, Demi’s furry friend lets her human be better dressed. Instead, he usually comes unclothed.
Pilaf (nicknamed “mouse”) has amassed almost 21,000 followers Instagram and in her three tiny years on this planet, she’s made tons of top-notch friends. So far, she has been lucky enough to mingle with stars such as Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, Debbie Harry, Sarah Paulson, Jeremy Allen White, as well as fashion’s elite, including Carolina Herrera innovative director Wes Gordon, Dior Homme/Fendi artistic director Kim Jones and designer Pierpaolo Piccioli (she even became friends with his puppy Miranda).
With her petite stature and iconic tongue-out facial expression, she makes an impression wherever she goes, so we can still expect to see her around the world with her dapper companion (especially since Demi has so many up-to-date and invigorating projects).
