BTS, a Korean boy band, has taken the world by storm over the years. Also known as the Bangtan Boys, BTS has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The ongoing conflict between HYBE, led by Bang Si-hyuk, and ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin is getting worse with each passing day. What is the reason for the controversy?
The controversy began when HYBE accused Min Hee-jin of embezzlement and reportedly even encouraged a female employee to siphon off hundreds of millions of won. HYBE further alleged that the employee continued to receive payments from other advertisers but never had any intention of reporting this to the company. The controversy escalated when HYBE accused ADOR of supporting embezzled individuals. Global sensation BTS was dragged into this mudslinging action. Allegations have been denied that Huge Hit Music, a subsidiary of HYBE, manipulated the charts to benefit BTS.
For the uninitiated: BTS aka Bangtan Sonyeondan is a South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010. The band consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook. They made their debut in 2013 under BIGHIT Entertainment, releasing the single 2 Nippy 4 Skool. BTS released their first studio albums, Shadowy & Wild and Wake Up in 2014, respectively.
BTS entered the global music market and led the Korean wave also known as the Hallyu wave to the United States with their single Mic Drop, which also earned them a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Over time, BTS has gained recognition around the world and currently has an ARMY wave in several countries. They produced several hits including Counterfeit Love, Fire, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Dynamite, Boy With Luv, Idol, Butter and Permission to Dance.
Up-to-date Jeans is a South Korean girl group. The group consists of Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein. They debuted in 2022 and have been catapulting audiences with their catchy and quick music ever since. Their popular songs include ETA, Hype Boy, GODS, Cookie, Super Shy, ASAP, Attention, Get Up, How Sweet and God’s Worlds Anthem.
