HMILfactory in Nepal: First model to be assembled
The first model to be assembled at Hyundai India’s plant in Nepal will be the Venue. Currently, there are many Hyundai SUVs available for purchase in Nepal, including Exter, Venue, Creta, Tucson, Santa Fe and Palisade. In Nepal, Premises is offered with a 1.2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine with a power of 61 HP and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The plant will also generate employment in the region while ensuring increased production of HMIL models abroad. It is possible that with the Venue being locally assembled in Nepal, the model’s prices are likely to drop in the region as CBU import taxes will not apply. For now, however, these are only speculations, as there has been no official announcement on this subject from the manufacturer.
