It’s no secret that the next Porsche 911 will offer some degree of hybridization, and today the company released some details ahead of the full launch of the 2025 Porsche 911 on May 28.
The recent hybrid-powered 911 completed one lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:16.934 minutes, which is 8.7 seconds faster than the “corresponding version of the previous model”. Which model is it? You’ll have to wait until May 28 to find out. We suppose you might also be able to check past bell times and do the math, but it will have to be within the current lap standard and… will that be it? really how do you want to spend your time? Patience, newborn Padawan. Porsche assures that “the test car was equipped with standard road tires and the aerodynamic kit with a fixed rear spoiler, which was previously available as an option.” The lap was completed by Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister.
“We have more grip, much more power, and the unrehearsed response of a high-performance hybrid is a great advantage,” Bermeister said in a Porsche release.
Porsche also shared information about testing the hybrid 911.
“We left nothing to chance during development and tested the recent 911 in a wide variety of conditions around the world, from bitter chilly to scorching heat,” said Frank Moser, vice president of the 911 model line, in a Porsche release. “In total, our engineers and test drivers logged more than 5.1 million miles during the development phase.”
