You can tune in Saturday Night Live laugh uncontrollably at whichever sketch cast member (and comedic genius) Marcello Hernandez plays. Or maybe you’re interested in the musical part of the show, singing and dancing to your favorite artists in your living room. Lately, there’s another reason many are watching: style. It’s impossible not to notice the latest on-stage looks, from Sydney Sweeney’s Alex Perry satin number to Olivia Rodrigo custom home on a hill mini dress. And looking fabulous doesn’t end once your weekly 90-minute show ends. The SNL Over the past six months, after-parties have also evolved into a full-fledged fashion scene.
But why the sudden fanfare around these nightly events (which often take place in restaurants or bars around the city)? Erica Chmuracelebrity stylist who works with Kacey Musgraves (who appeared in SNL at the beginning of March 2024), He believes that the increased interest is due to the high visibility of these parties. “It’s what people pay attention to on Saturday nights, especially in Novel York,” he explains to TZR over the phone.
Cloud also mentions that these affairs give celebrities a bit of sartorial freedom and a chance to let their hair down. “At this point everyone is celebrating and you can get a little cheeky [with your look] and you don’t have to worry about the right carpet,” he notes. “That’s the best thing about an after party.” Plus, since anything goes in Novel York, Cloud says stars can wear outfits that wouldn’t necessarily fly in Los Angeles, where most of Hollywood’s set designers live. “Even walking down the street here, people are wearing amazing outfits that are special to them.” Stylist British Elkin Hineswho works with her sister Penalty, shares a similar opinion. “When it comes to after-parties in general, it’s really fascinating and nippy to see these looks because they’re much less formal and more casual [than a red carpet]”
And because SNL After-parties have become such a popular place that they no longer attract only those attending the show. Take, for example, the sighting of Emma Roberts in January. Elkin Hines, who styled the actor for the evening, claims she only showed up for the soiree after the show, which was hosted by Jacob Elordi and featured musical guest Reneé Rapp. (Approximately 15 inches observable this clip star-studded crowd.) Roberts was captured making her entrance wearing a Nour Hammour fur coat, which she wore as a dress. “We liked the 1960s feel of Penny Lane [the jacket]” – notes Elkin Hines, adding that this was the highlight of the entire styling. Although Roberts was covered (it was winter, after all), the fashion guru points out the sheer underwear, and the exposed underwear looks similar to other popular styles seen outside of these balls — it’s scarce to get a photo inside these seem to be places.
