A recent report by news agency Reuters stated that the Microsoft-backed artificial intelligence (AI) startup is set to launch the search engine on June 13, a day before Google’s annual developer conference (which starts on June 14), Google I/O 2024.
In a post shared on microblog X (formerly Twitter), Altman confirmed that OpenAI is expected to make novel announcements in the coming week, but that they will not involve GPT-5 or the search engine.
However, OpenAI’s CEO announced that the company is “working tough on some novel things.” He also noted that users “love” these improvements, and also stated that this improvement “seems magical” to him.
