Bookings for the next-generation Swift are already underway. Interested customers can book the fresh Swift online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The booking amount is Rs 11,000 and deliveries are expected to start soon. The fresh Swift continues to compete directly with the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago. Let’s talk about variants and prices. The fresh Maruti Suzuki Swift is offered in five variants – LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi plus and ZXI Plus DT, and prices range from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.64 lakh (ex-showroom). As for the Grand i10, it is offered in Era, Magna, Sportz, Corporate and Asta variants and prices range from Rs 5.92 lakh to Rs 8.6 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiago will get XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZA plus models priced between Rs 5.65 lakh and Rs 8.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of dimensions, the Swift is 3,860 mm long, 1,735 mm wide, 1,520 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The Grand i10 is 3,815 mm long, 1,680 mm wide, 1,520 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. The Tiago is 3,765 mm long, 1,677 mm wide, 1,537 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,400 mm.
Now comparing the engines, the fresh Swift is powered by an all-new 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Z-series three-cylinder petrol engine producing 82bhp of power and 112Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or AMT. The fresh Swift has reported a fuel efficiency of 24.8 kmpl for the MT variants and 25.75 kmpl for the AMT. Currently, the Swift is not available with a CNG option.
The Grand i10 is powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 83bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or AMT. The fresh Swift has reported fuel efficiency of 20.7 kmpl for the MT variants and 20.1 kmpl for the AMT. The Nios gets a factory-fitted CNG kit with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops 69 PS and 95.2 Nm of torque. It is only offered with a 5-speed gearbox and has a claimed fuel economy of 27.3 km/h.

Like the Swift, the Tiago is also powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or AMT. The Tiago will also be available in a CNG version with a segment-first automatic transmission. There is also an EV version called Tiago. The EV is available with two battery options.
Talking about features, all three cars in this segment are equipped with such amenities. The Swift comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, connected car technology with over 40 features, Arkamys sound system, wireless charger, LED headlights, semi-digital instrument cluster with 4.2 -inch MID, rear AC vents, LED fog lights, cruise control, automatic climate control, start/stop button, steering wheel controls, reversing camera and electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors.
