Exclusive: The British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) has nominated five cinematographers for Best Feature Film. sinner and Battles continue one after another.
Autumn’s Durald Arkapaw nominated for Ryan Coogler’s film sinner. The film won Best Picture and Best Box Office at last night’s Golden Globe Awards in Hollywood, and has grossed about $370 million worldwide since its release by Warner Bros. last April.

Michael Bauman nominated for director Paul Thomas Anderson Battles continue one after anotheralso released by Warner Bros. Bauman previously filmed Anderson’s 2021 drama licorice pizzahas worked on several of Anderson’s previous projects in the camera department.
Other nominees in the feature film category are Seamus McGarvey in Lynne Ramsay; Die My LoveGuillermo del Toro’s Dan Laustsen frankensteinJosh Safdie’s Darius Khondji Marty Supreme.

The BSC Film Award for Best Feature Film is the second oldest major industry award issued for cinematography, after the equivalent Oscar Award. lol Crowley won last year’s award brutalistwhich won a BAFTA and an Oscar for cinematography.
BSC Chairman Christopher Ross said: “2025 is a special year for our arts sector. The nominations announced today reflect not only the scope of projects, but also how global cinematography has become.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Saturday 7th February.
The previously announced Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Remi Adefarasin, cinematographer of the following films: elizabeth and match point.
