The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits unexpectedly fell for the third week in a row, hitting a seven-month low, according to data released by the Labor Department on Nov. 26.
New jobless claims for the week ending Nov. 22 fell by 6,000 to 216,000 from 222,000 the previous week, the lowest level since mid-April.
