A federal judge on November 19 temporarily blocked the Trump administration from terminating Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for more than 6,000 Syrians while legal challenges proceed.
U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla in Manhattan agreed with seven Syrian immigrants who had sought to block the policy from taking effect Nov. 21, saying abruptly ending temporary protected status would likely be illegal.
