The Jets are 2-8 in 2025 after losing 27-14 to the Patriots on TNF in Week 11. New York started the season 0-7, but then won two straight.
They won back-to-back games before losing to New England in prime time. Head coach Aaron Glenn is making some quarterback changes ahead of Week 12’s game against the Ravens. Justin Fields, who started nine games and had a record of 2 wins and 7 losses, started on the bench. Veteran QB Tyrod Taylor will start for New York in Week 12. The Jets are off to play the Ravens.

This offseason, the Jets signed QB Justin Fields to a two-year, $40 million contract. This includes $30 million in guaranteed money and a $15 million signing bonus. Justin Fields has started nine of New York’s 10 games so far in 2025. He missed the Jets’ Week 3 game against the Buccaneers due to a concussion. Fields is averaging 139.9 passing yards per game this season. This is by far the worst in the NFL. Additionally, this was the lowest of the 2022 NFL season, when the Bears gained 130.5 passing yards per game. Justin Fields was the quarterback of that Bears team.
In Week 11 against the Patriots on TNF, Justin Fields had 116 passing yards in the entire game. Only 23 yards including passing yards in the first half. Justin Fields has 505 passing yards in his last five starts. After New York’s loss to the Patriots, head coach Aaron Glenn said the team would “evaluate everything.”

On Monday, NFL insider Deanna Russini announced that the Jets will bench Justin Fields. Backup QB Tyrod Taylor will make his second start for New York this year. Taylor is in his 15th year as a professional and his second season with the Jets. The 36-year-old started for New York in Week 3 when Justin Fields was sidelined with a concussion. They lost to the Buccaneers 29-27. Taylor passed for 197 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
New York will travel to play the Ravens in Week 12. Baltimore has won four straight after starting the year 1-5. The Ravens enter the game against the Jets with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses. Tyrod Taylor will see his first action scenes later in Week 7, replacing Justin Fields. Can he lead the Jets to their third win of the 2025 season?
