In the first seven games of the 2025 season, the Dolphins are 1-6. The team is on a three-game losing streak. During a 31-6 loss to the Browns in Week 7, tight end Darren Waller suffered a chest injury.
On Wednesday, October 22nd, Miami announced that Darren Waller has been placed on IR. Not ideal for a Dolphins offense that struggles to pass the ball. Waller will miss at least the next four games with the injury. Miami has a Week 11 bye, and Waller will be eligible to return in Week 12 against the Saints.

Darren Waller announced his retirement after the 2023 season with the New York Giants. He did not play in the NFL during the 2024 season. However, Waller came out of retirement in the 2025 offseason and joined the Dolphins. During training camp, Darren Waller suffered a hip injury. As a result, the 33-year-old will miss the first three games of the season.
Darren Waller made his Dolphins debut in Week 4 against the Jets. Miami won that game 27-21. Waller had three catches for 27 yards and two touchdowns against New York. In Week 5, he had five catches for 78 yards and one touchdown. In Weeks 6 and 7 combined, Waller had two catches for 12 yards.

However, he was forced to leave the 31-6 loss to the Browns in Week 7 with a pectoral injury. On Wednesday, the Dolphins placed the veteran tight end on IR. He will likely miss at least the next four games. Not ideal for Miami’s offense. Tight ends Julian Hill and Tanner Conner will get more playing time, while Waller will miss out.
Additionally, the Dolphins signed the former Broncos and Giants tight end to the active roster. Dalcic performed well for New York in the 2025 preseason, but was not added to the active roster. After seven weeks on the practice squad, Dalcic will join the active roster. In response, the Dolphins signed tight end Chris Meyrick to their practice squad. The Dolphins will be on the road in Week 8 to face the Atlanta Falcons.
