YouTube agreed to pay $24.5 million to resolve the lawsuit filed over the suspension of his account following the January 6 Capitol riots, according to a court application on Monday, September 29th.

The deal marks YouTube’s last three major tech companies alongside Meta and X, settling the lawsuit filed by Trump, accusing them of illegally censoring them.

Trump and YouTube reconciliation

$22 million will be sent to the National Mall Trust to support the construction of the new $200 million state ballroom in the White House.

$2.5 million will be shared among other plaintiffs, including the American conservative federation and author Naomi Wolf.

YouTube has confirmed that it will not accept fraud and will not change its policy or product as part of its transaction.

Trump’s YouTube account was suspended from being uploaded in January 2021, but was revived in March 2023.

Other social media hamlets involving Trump

Meta (Facebook’s parent company) settled in January 2025 for $25 million, with $22 million allocated to Trump’s Presidential Library.

X reached a $10 million settlement in February 2025.
